Salary placement on pay scale based on qualifications and experience relevant to position.The OpportunityThe Job Developer (JD) will liaise with employers and professional associations to obtain work experience opportunities for program participants with barriers to employment. The JD will assist Participants with job search strategies, providing tools and resources to help prepare and support job maintenance. The JD also contributes to the program team by assisting with participant recruitment, screening and liaising with community organizations.Who We AreDo what you love. Be good at it. And were looking for passionate, motivated people to join us in making one of Canadas best degree-granting colleges even better.Be a part of an institution where everyone is committed to empowering successful students, creating responsive learning environments, fostering social and environmental responsibility, and supporting healthy learning and work environments.What It TakesRESPONSIBILITIES :Assist with program marketing and participant recruitment;Connect with community organizations who provide referrals, wrap around supports and coordinate guest speaking workshops;Assist with participant needs assessments to determine eligibility for program and job readiness;Maintain and build positive employer relationships;Assist participants to access:One or more work experiences,Job Shadowing opportunitiesInformational InterviewsWage Subsidy Work Experiences,Direct Job Placement,MentorshipAssist employers with onboarding and the development of training;Monitor and provide ongoing support during and after completion of program;Assist participants and employers to resolve issues that may arise during work experience;Participate in local business and industry meetings (i.e. Chamber of Commerce);Maintain records of participant progress and provide updates through monthly reports and regular team meetings;Review client outcomes against performance targets, contribute strategies to ensure program targets are met, participate in strategic planning and program review sessions as scheduled;Provide coverage for team members including facilitation for in class sessions;Foster positive, productive working relationships and work collaboratively to contribute to a positive work environment based on mutual respect;Participate in Training Groups Quality Management System (ISO9001:2015);Participate in Training Groups Job Developer cross-program team.TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED :Post-Secondary degree, in an employment services related field or, equivalent level of knowledge and experience;Certified Career Development Practitioner ( CCDP ) an asset;Certificate or diploma in Job Development an asset.Demonstrated ExperienceBuilding and maintaining partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders;Providing customer service and resolving issues;Knowledge of the labour market in Langley and BC is an asset.In AdditionStrong oral, written, and communication skills an asset;Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule;Willingness to travel within the Lower Mainland;Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle;Good computer skills: MS Office Suite, database entry, and the use of online-demand meeting applications and desk-top sharing;Satisfactory completion of a criminal record check.Additional InformationWORK SCHEDULE :This posting is for a full-time contract Job Developer, 40 hrs per week, with the WorkBC Langley Centre.
