The Health and Safety Representative will support local Leadership by inspecting work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company and Provincial Health and Safety policies and regulations; will oversee ongoing work sites to ensure team members comply with company and client safety requirements, along with promoting a positive Health and Safety culture. Foster and maintain positive client and Clean Harbors operational relationships. Work on the ground in the field in all weather conditions >60% in the field. Audit performance and compliance with Health & Safety policies, programs, and procedures. Facilitate incident investigations. Collaborate with Leaders, support safety meetings on topics designed to promote a better understanding of Clean Harbors Health & Safety policies, programs, procedures, or general Health & Safety. Conduct Health and safety site inspections and audits to assure compliance with Corporate Health & Safety policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines, and proper work practices needed to maintain safe operations. Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes, and always acting in a safe manner. Develop, review and update Job Hazard Analysis. Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and incident reporting and follow-up. Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational Health & Safety procedures to complete assignments. Inspect assigned work areas and equipment to identify Health & Safety compliance issues. Document safety inspections Near Miss, Unsafe Acts, Unsafe Conditions and Safe Operations with corrective actions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years Health and Safety experience within an industrial setting. CRSP designation preferred. OH&S Diploma; certification is an asset. Class G driver's license required. Effective communication and people skills. Ability to travel to other locations across Canada to support projects, turnarounds, and outages.
