A large part of this position includes virtual work but also requires facetoface patient interactions. In the future, this position will be expected to participate in an oncall rotation to provide 24/7 virtual NP consultation coverage throughout North Zone. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is nonpensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Description As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will integrate clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership, Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as an RN. Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as an NP. 1year clinical experience managing palliative care clients (within the last 3 years) in an advanced practice role. Experience in at least two (2) care sectors, including Continuing Care and/or Home & Community Care. Advanced clinical & assessment skills. Competent with MS Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, and telehealth knowledge. Ability to travel in inclement weather. Able to carry a 30lb medical bag and/or various equipment. Preferred Qualifications CNA Certification in Palliative Care. McMasters Case Management Education. Meditech and Connect Care Trained. Previous experience in a leadership role.
