OPEN COMPETITIONThe Lac La Ronge Indian Bands Woodland Wellness Centre is inviting applications for the following position based out of the Prevention & Recovery Department in La Ronge, SK:Mental Health Therapist2 Permanent Full-TimeThe suitable candidate will perform the following duties:Interview clients individually, in families, or in groups to obtain case history background information and prepare intake reports.Assess strengths, deficits, and difficulties; determine the types of services required.Provide therapy to help clients develop skills to manage social and personal difficulties.Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop a self-help approach for improving the health and social well-being of band members.Participate in community development projects to enhance mental health capacity.Provide follow-up care to individuals and families returning from external treatment agencies.Develop school-based programs.Create crisis intervention plans for communities.Offer crisis intervention services and emergency shelter referrals.Organize and implement community-specific services.Conduct workshops and presentations on mental health topics.Maintain confidentiality within legal and child welfare reporting limits.Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.The ideal candidate will possess:Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Education (Major in Psychology), or a related field.1-2 years of experience in counselling, social work, psychology, or related areas (preferred).Ability to counsel children, youth, and adults.Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Professional registration with a regulatory body (e.g., Saskatchewan Social Work Association, Canadian Social Work Association).Experience working with First Nations communities (asset).Ability to speak/understand Cree (asset).Valid Class 5 Drivers License and own reliable vehicle.Satisfactory and recent Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Drivers Abstract.Date of Posting: May 13, 2025Deadline: Until a suitable candidate is found.To apply, submit a cover letter, resume, and three references (excluding Chief and Councilors), including one from your most recent employer, to:Human Resources Office, Phone: 306-425-9109Woodland Wellness Centre, Fax: (306) 425-9108Box 850, Email: Ronge, SK S0J 3G0Website: Applications received without proper documentation will not be considered.
