Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description The electrical engineer will operate within a vibrant team at a leading particle accelerator facility. The role demands a P.Eng certification and involves managing the entire life cycle of electrical power distribution projects, including planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance. The role focuses on design engineering and installation, with some maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) responsibilities. Responsibilities Design and coordinate installation of electrical systems, including MCCs, circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear. Conduct independent design and field reviews of complex electrical projects. Maintain and operate site electrical equipment and fire alarm systems. Provide engineering support on electrical matters and designs to enhance system reliability and safety. Collaborate with various stakeholders including project proponents, design team members, and service groups to develop designs and specifications. Essential Skills 4+ years of electrical engineering experience. P.Eng certification. Expert knowledge in electrical circuits, power system equipment, and power system analysis. Experience with site electrical distribution. Understanding of grounding techniques and Canadian Electrical Codes (CEC). Proficiency in CAD tools like DraftSight and SolidWorks. Experience with commercial engineering tools for analysis and simulation, such as SKM/ETAP or Easy Power. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in plant electrical engineering is a plus. Work Environment Join a dynamic team of 14 professionals, including electricians, electrical technicians, and engineers. This role reports to the Group Leader, Electrical Services, and involves collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. The position requires fulltime presence in the office, with frequent interaction with operational staff, researchers, and equipment owners. The role includes working with vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, BC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
