Why Do We Need You? CertainTeed Canada has an exciting career opportunity for a Packaging Operator based in Redcliff to join our team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Packer is responsible for: Clean, inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment in a safe and efficient manner following company safety standards. Load the correct number of bags into the strapping machine. Ensure all finished Go-Pac''s are good quality. Place roll-up bags on the bag ring and seal filled bags onto vacuum plunger. Ensure the packing are kept neat and orderly. Clean ductwork, plenum, and oven areas during scheduled Preventative Maintenance days (P.M. Days). All other duties required for the position. Is This Job For You? What makes you stand out from the crowd? Willing to work on rotating shifts including nights and weekends. Minimum grade 12 education and some post-secondary education preferred. Must be a team player. Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Able to learn to operate automated plant manufacturing equipment. Must be able to spend a significant amount of time on plant floor. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair climbing, lifting, and entering confined spaces. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $19.59 per hour plus shift premium, progress to $20.75 per hour after 300 hours of employment and to $23.05 per hour after 600 hours of employment. This role may be covered by a Union. In the event of any discrepancy between this posting and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the CBA hall govern.
