Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Assistant to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys with a variety of administrative and legal tasks, ensuring smooth office operations and efficient case management. Responsibilities Draft, proofread, and review legal documents, correspondence, and filings with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Apply strong knowledge of immigration programs and procedures, including file preparation, eligibility assessment, and drafting program-specific submissions Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to support case strategy and preparation Manage and maintain case files using iManage or similar document management systems Assist with project management tasks related to active immigration cases and firm initiatives Conduct client and witness interviews to gather relevant information as required Perform data entry and maintain accurate, up-to-date case and client records Organize, file, and retrieve legal documents efficiently in both electronic and physical formats Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling phone inquiries with professional etiquette Support attorneys in preparation for hearings, depositions, and meetings by organizing documentation, evidence, and case materials Qualifications Proven experience in administrative or clerical roles within a legal environment is preferred Strong proofreading, writing, and legal drafting skills Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis Experience with project management and case organization software like iManage or similar platforms Bilingual in English and Farsi Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Demonstrated research skills and attention to detail in document review Proficiency in data entry, filing systems, and general office software (e.g., MS Office Suite) Strong communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette Prior experience with interviewing clients or witnesses is a plus This position is an integral part of our team dedicated to providing exceptional legal support.
