The Opportunity: CGMH is seeking a Summer Student to assist with hospital development team in planning, research and coordination activities related to the design and construction of a new hospital. This role offers exposure to healthcare infrastructure development, project management, biomedical equipment and hospital furniture and stakeholder engagement. The student will gain insight into hospital planning and development processes, develop skills in project coordination and stakeholder engagement and understand the integration of design, operations, and patient experience in healthcare facilities. Qualifications: Currently enrolled in a university program (Engineering, Architecture, Business, Health Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Building Sciences or related field) Strong organizational and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with project management tools is an asset. Knowledge of AI tools is an asset. Understanding, ability to interpret drawings and blueprints Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Interest in healthcare infrastructure and project management Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to: Support project documentation, including meeting minutes, reports, and presentations With appropriate training and supervision, conduct and document an inventory of existing equipment and furniture. May include tagging of assets Conduct research on best practices for hospital design, sustainability, and patient-centered care Assist with data collection and analysis for planning and budgeting purposes Help coordinate meetings with architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders Maintain project schedules and track deliverables Prepare communication materials for internal updates and community engagement Provide administrative support to the development team as needed.
