Looking For Health Care Aides to Take Care of Our Special Girl During The Day. She was Born with Multiple Congenital Anomalies causing her to spend the first 8 months of her life at the Stollery Children''s Hospital. She Requires 24/7 supervision. Nightly Duties Requires Insuring The child is Connected to her Ventilator at all times and Suctioning secretions, Running Feeds on Time. Maintaining Equipment, Diaper Changes, suctioning when necessary Keeping The Space Tidy. Caregivers Must display Competency in skills and the ability to be independent. Reliability is Essential. Training will require care givers to Display Competency and Understanding of the Equipment and condition of the child. Prioritizing Tasks Properly and Self sufficiency is Essential. Candidates must be willing to under-go the required Training. Shifts will be Monday -Friday Hours Will be Negotiated During The Interview Candidates Must be Willing to Help Transport Child To and From Appointments Candidates Must be Willing to Help and Support Child During Medical Emergencies Care Givers Will be Trained and Must Be Comfortable With the Following: Repositioning and Comforting -Rotating every 2 hours to prevent pressure sores when sleeping - Picking up and putting her into her chair. -Holding G-Tube Feeds -Setting up Feed/ Adjusting Rate -Mixing Formula -Venting G-tube -Flushing G-tube -Clamping G-tube Oxygen -Setting Up a Tank With a Regulator -Reading a Regulator -Reading a Oxygen Concentrator. Light Physio -Helping her Hold her Toys -Helping her Sit -Range of Motion Working With The Ventilator (BiPap) -Ensuring Tubing is Properly Connected to child Suctioning Oral and Nasal Suctioning - Deep Suction (competent in assessing the need for a deep suction) Maintaining Equipment Bagging - In an Emergency Situation Workers Must be Comfortable bagging a child and understand infant CPR. Checking Trach Ties are always appropriately fitted to Childs neck. Looking For multiple individuals to work a rotational schedule. Your Priority will be Comforting the Baby at all times if Needed and To Ensure Her Safety. Room For Increase in Pay based on dedication and competency. Must be Fluent in English.
