This role plays a critical part in developing accurate, detailed designs for custom HVAC air handling equipment. The successful candidate will support Sales Engineers, project teams, manufacturing, and clients by producing compliant, manufacturable, and high-quality designs with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration. Key Responsibilities Design and draft detailed HVAC system layouts, including coil runs, fan sections, duct transitions, and equipment connections Collaborate with Sales Engineers and project teams to develop accurate models for custom air handling units Interpret engineering specifications and industry standards (ASHRAE, AMCA, SMACNA) to ensure compliance Prepare detailed design drawings, bills of material, and supporting project documentation Coordinate and track all phases of the project lifecycle, including submittals, revisions, and final delivery Provide technical support to internal teams, manufacturing, and external clients throughout the project Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, energy efficiency, and customer-specific requirements Maintain organized project files while meeting deadlines and quality standards Qualifications Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, or a related field 25 years of experience in HVAC equipment design, drafting, or mechanical layout (manufacturing environment preferred) Proficient in AutoCAD (Level II or higher) Strong understanding of HVAC system components, coil design/runs, fans, blowers, and motor-driven equipment Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF editors) Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams What We Offer Competitive wages Health, Dental & Vision coverage (premiums fully paid by ICE Western) Paid vacation Matching RRSP plan Educational allowance to support professional development Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Company events and team initiatives Free on-site parking PPE allowance Career growth opportunities
