The Role We are partnering with a well-established organization in the manufacturing and metals industry to recruit a Temporary Logistics Coordinator. This role plays a critical part in coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting dispatch operations, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and on time. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong internal customer service. Advantages Hourly wage $19-$21 based on experience Training shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM 4:30 PM (during initial training period) Regular Schedule (Post-Training): Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM 8:00 PM Temporary placement with potential extension Hands-on training and mentorship from a Senior Logistics Coordinator Opportunity to gain experience within a well-established manufacturing and metals environment Exposure to end-to-end logistics operations, including dispatching, shipping, billing, and inventory coordination Opportunity to build experience with WMS, dispatching, and trucking systems Responsibilities Coordinate and dispatch incoming and outgoing material shipments, ensuring on-time delivery Determine the most effective shipping methods using knowledge of routes, rates, weights, and loads Prepare, review, and organize all shipping documentation including bills of lading and billing paperwork Review incoming sales orders and ensure same-day shipments are processed by end of day Communicate proactively with internal sales teams regarding order status, changes, delays, or exceptions Monitor shipping and receiving schedules and maintain data integrity throughout the order lifecycle Dispatch trucks based on weight restrictions and load requirements Support inventory accuracy by ensuring all orders are scanned and documentation is completed correctly Coordinate inter-branch material transfers and supplier-direct-to-customer shipments Assist with administrative reports, backlog support, and documentation when sales volumes slow Monitor safety compliance, fleet maintenance, and inbound/outbound driver records Coordinate inbound rail traffic and ensure documentation is completed prior to arrival Maintain organized records and files for cross-departmental use Adhere to all health, safety, quality, and company policies Requirements Minimum 1 year of shipping or logistics experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Dispatching experience is strongly preferred Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate internally across teams Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools Experience with WMS systems and dispatching/trucking software is considered an asset Previous exposure to the metals industry or metalware products is an advantage #INDSTRIVEON
