These homes are exclusively for Squamish Nation Members and priority is given to vulnerable women and their children experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The second priority is for families, elders, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ2SIA+ who are also homeless or at risk of homelessness.General Purpose Reporting to theManager ofBuildingServices, the Building Maintenance staffareresponsible formaintainingthe buildingstoa high levelof cleanliness and good repair and ensuring that tenants experience quiet enjoyment of their homes. This position requires a mix of maintenance,janitorial,administrative,and interpersonal skills.This positionalsorequires travel to other properties in the Squamish / Brackendale area that are managed byHiym Housing, including the Squamish 10-Plex,13-Plexand Tantalus Manor.Key Responsibilities and DutiesEnsure that all interiorcommon areasof the buildingsare kept clean and tidyand,thatthe theexterior of the buildingsiskept clean, and the groundsaremaintainedandlitter-free.Perform minor repairs and maintenance on building components and equipment in allcommon areasand units.Maintain required building supplies and materials.Work with the Property Management team to perform move-in and move-out inspectionsof unit turnovers, documenting as required by the property guidelines and according toHiym Housing policies.Utilize staff and/or external contractors to promptly prepare vacant units for occupancy according to standards of maintenance policies and procedures.Inputs tenant information and maintenance activities into property management software.Works cooperatively with the Property Management teamtoidentifyandde-escalateconflicts that arise within the tenant population and works towards creating an environment of trust whilemaintaininghealthyboundaries.Other related duties as directed by theManager ofBuildingServices.Maintainsa schedule of attendance per-building.Travel toother properties managed byHiymHousing in the Squamish/Brackendale areadaily to ensure that grounds are tidy andidentifyany maintenance issues.Education and ExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience working in residential buildings or in other related maintenancepositions.Experience workingwithFirst Nations.Knowledge of the BCResidentialTenancy Act.Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.WHIMIS certificate isrequired.Computer and software knowledgeisrequired(Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook)Valid Class 5 Drivers Licencewith clean abstractand own vehicle isrequired.SalaryFull-time$55,000 to$58,000AnnuallyYour cover letter and resume should besubmittedas one document in your profile when applying for this position.The deadlinedate tosubmitisFriday,January30th, 2026.Pleasesubmitdocument [email protected]:January30, 2026
