About the Role As a Senior Financial Analyst in the R&D organization, you will be the strategic navigator for our Engineering and Product organizations. This is not a maintenancemode role; you will build solutions and uncover the stories behind the numbers, hunting for root causes in cloud spend, headcount variances, and other anomalies. What You Will Do Support business partnering with Engineering & Product leadership Investigate anomalies in cloud spend (AWS), software tooling, and headcount utilization to drive efficiency Translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable language for nonfinance stakeholders Analytical Ownership (Soup to Nuts) Own the R&D P&L: Manage endtoend forecasting, budgeting, and monthend close processes for the R&D function Headcount Management: Track movement of people, model hiring ramps, attrition, and capitalization with high precision Cloud Cost Analysis / AI Cost Analysis: Partner to model usage and forecast costs, ensuring gross margins scale effectively as we grow Taming Ambiguity & Building Scalability Design for Scale: Transform unstructured data and adhoc spreadsheets into repeatable, scalable financial models and dashboards Process Architecture: Identify broken or manual processes (e.g., software license tracking) and build automated, structured solutions Synthesize data from disparate systems (HRIS, ERP, Cloud Usage) to create a single source of truth Build dynamic models that handle bestcase / worstcase scenario planning on the fly Who You Are Extreme attention to detail: You are driven to produce accurate, scalable data and meticulously recorded assumptions Relentlessly curious: You dig deep and enjoy uncovering the operational drivers behind variances Messy Middle lover: You thrive in ambiguous situations and can build solutions from scratch without a perfect roadmap Data Wrangler: You are not intimidated by large datasets and know how to pull, clean, and structure data for use Ownership mindset: You treat the business as your own and drive solutions to resolution Qualifications 4+ years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a highly analytical business ops role CPA, CFA or MBA degree is a plus SaaS experience: strong understanding of SaaS metrics (R&D % of revenue, CAC, gross margin, ARR) Proficiency in Google Sheets and modeling is mandatory; experience with Pigment, Adaptive, Anaplan, Tableau, or Looker is highly preferred Experience with SQL or working with large datasets is a huge plus Benefits & Compensation Compensation is one of the main components of Clios Total Rewards Program. The expected salary range for this role is $100,300 to $135,700 CAD, depending on experience and geographic region.
