Youll apply your technical judgement, attention to detail, and collaborative mindset to ensure work meets contract, class, and regulatory requirements while strengthening our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system.What Youll DoPlan and run inspections across hull, mechanical, electrical, piping, coatings, and structural scopes; document results and maintain complete inspection records.Develop Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, hold/witness points, and acceptance criteria aligned to contracts, drawings, and specifications.Coordinate quality activities with Point Hope supervisors, vessel reps, class surveyors, and authorities (e.g., Transport Canada); schedule and escort inspections.Review contracts and technical packages for QA/QC requirements; perform and communicate gap analyses with clear actions and owners.Author and update procedures, work instructions, and forms for QA and QC; translate technical requirements into practical shopready documents.Maintain document control and records (SharePoint/Teams) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015; support internal audits and management of change.Create process maps (swimlane diagrams, flow charts) in Microsoft Visio to clarify responsibilities and handoffs.Drive issue resolution by raising and tracking nonconformances, corrective/preventive actions, and lessons learned.What You BringMustHaveExperience leading or performing inspections in an industrial and/or marine environment.Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel) and Microsoft Visio.Strong technical writing skills (procedures, work instructions, inspection reports).Solid understanding of industrial equipment and machinery; ability to read drawings/specs.Training or working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and records management.Clear, professional communication and the confidence to engage with class/regulatory bodies.NicetoHaveAuditor training (internal or lead auditor) and/or LEAN/continuous improvement experience.Background in engineering, trades, or marine systems; diploma/degree or equivalent experience.Familiarity with marine/class standards and authorities (e.g., DNV/ABS/LR, Transport Canada).Exposure to coatings, welding/fabrication, NDE/NDT coordination, or pressure testing.CompetenciesAnalytical, organized, and detailaccurateyou close loops and keep clean records.Resultsoriented with sound judgement under schedule pressure.Comfortable working onboard vessels, including confined spaces and at heights; fit for routine shipyard PPE and safety requirements.Why Youll Love Working HereMeaningful, visible impact on safety and reliability of vessels that serve our coast.Handson collaboration with skilled trades and seasoned marine professionals.A historic yard that encourages you to rise to your ability and keep learning.Additional pay:Bonus payBenefits:Dental careExtended health care6% vacation pay inlieu of paid days off.Vision care #J-18808-Ljbffr
