Casual Healthcare Security Guard Smiths Falls / Perth / Brockville Hospitals / Lanark County Mental Health Position: Casual Healthcare Security Guard Smiths Falls/Perth/Brockville Hospitals/Lanark County Mental Health. Locations: Smiths Falls Hospital 60 Cornelia St W; Perth Hospital 33 Drummond St W; Brockville General Hospital 75 Charles St; Lanark County Mental Health 9 Armstrong Dr. Hours: Various 0700-1900 or 1900-0700. Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours. Pay rate: $18.35/hr $21.48/hr. Date Posted: January 8, 2026. Internal Closing Date: January 15, 2026. External Closing Date: March 31, 2026. Note: Applicants must have flexible availability to work 23 12hour shifts per week and be comfortable crosstraining at multiple facilities. Responsibilities Conduct proactive and reactive interior and exterior security patrols, including in inclement weather. Monitor and supervise patients as required. Respond to incidents, remain calm in emergencies, and use effective conflict management and verbal deescalation techniques. Investigate routine incidents and complete clear, accurate incident and endofshift reports. Enforce parking, smoking, site bylaws, and all client and Paladin policies and procedures. Liaise with Paladin management and onsite staff to meet operational requirements. Operate independently and as part of a team to complete assigned duties. Stay seated or standing for up to 12 hours per shift. Participate in ongoing training and development as directed. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Authorized to legally work in Canada. Valid Ontario Security Guard License. Valid Ontario Gclass driving license. Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate (from a WSIBapproved provider). Ability to be clean shaven for an N95 mask fit test. Proof of minimum two COVID19 vaccinations. Immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and TB skin tests Step1 &2). Clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding. Aboveaverage English communication (oral/written) required; bilingualism (English/French) preferred. Sixplus months of customer service experience preferred. Additional Training Requirements Must provide prerequisite certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). If lacking, you may opt into Paladins UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding. UoF/MOAB training is unpaid, but Paladin will cover all training costs with a sixmonth commitment to the position/availability. Complete mandatory onboarding and training with Paladin in Kingston, with ongoing training & development as directed by Paladin Management or the client. Commit to a consistent sixmonth availability.
