DZ Commercial Front End Driver Downtown Toronto Join to apply for the DZ Commercial Front End Driver Downtown Toronto role at WM. This is a union position located at our Esandar hauling site. Frontendloader truck driving experience required. Some Manual Loading may be required rolling out and lining up Totes prior to setting on lift. Some overflow bags/larger items will need to be manually loaded. Start time: 3 a.m. Starting Pay: $30.46 / hour. Shift: Expectation of daily overtime of 1112 hours worked per day, as well as Saturdays. OT is paid daily after 10 hours (which includes lunch and breaks); Saturdays are paid at timeandhalf for hours worked. Job Summary Safely operates a heavyduty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operates vehicle in accordance with all local, state, and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle. Performs pre and posttrip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard DVIR; notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair. Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch before attempting service. Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Route Manager. Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts. Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed. Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. Notifies Dispatch or Route Manager of issues as prescribed by Service Machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pickups, or problems that arise on the route. Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager. Completely dumps all containers and leaves the customers location clean and free of debris. Completes and submits customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed. Positions containers on the customers property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic. Follows route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking in at the end of the route. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory duties. Qualifications A. Education and Experience Education: None required. Experience: Frontend truck driving experience required. B. Certificates, Licences, Registrations, or Other Requirements Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid social insurance number (SIN). Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher. The CDL is a requirement; therefore, an applicant must be at least 18 years of age. Successfully complete preemployment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review. Acceptable driving record required. The expected base pay range for this position across Canada is $30.46 hourly. This range represents a goodfaith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidates relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
