Registered Nurse, Ravensview at Homewood Ravensview We are currently seeking a Part Time Registered Nurse to work in a dynamic, team-oriented startup facility. This role requires creativity, flexibility, collaboration, and passion for delivering highquality, patientcentered care during the facilitys developmental stages. What Youll Be Doing Implement the principles and practices of a patient and familycentered recovery model in mental health and addictions treatment. Conduct comprehensive mental health and addiction risk assessments, formulate treatment and discharge plans, and provide crisis intervention. Perform detox assessments. Communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings, diagnosis, treatment, selfcare, and prognosis. Assess patients daily for care needs, consult with doctors and clinical team members about patient care. Collaborate with patients and other health professionals to identify and assess trends and patterns with implications for patients, families, and communities. Assess and recognize population health trends; plan and implement strategies for populationbased prevention. Analyze and synthesize all available information to develop an individualized treatment plan collaboratively with patients and families. Identify and respond appropriately to legal and ethical issues that may arise in patient care. Provide safe and respectful health care planning and direction to maximize patient health and wellbeing. Develop and implement evidencebased strategies to improve care and participate in creating and evaluating health care policies. Conduct daytoday care delivery to patients and administer medications; act as nurse in charge as required. Mentor and act as a preceptor for students as required. What Were Looking For Bachelor or Diploma from an accredited Psychiatric Nursing college or a Bachelor of Nursing from an accredited nursing college. At least two (2) years of recent related experience in a mental health and/or substance use setting. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP). Current First Aid/CPR Certification for health care providers (Level 1 or greater). Comprehensive knowledge of mental disorders, addictions, and concurrent disorders, and the treatment and principles of recovery in mental illness and addictions, including suicide prevention, treatment, and emergency response. Comprehensive knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation methodology, chemical dependency, addictions treatment, psychopharmacology (indications and sideeffects), and psychotherapeutic and counseling skills. Knowledge of evidencebased best practices and issues in the care and treatment of mental disorders, addictions, and concurrent disorders. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act as it applies to the rights and obligations of patients. Knowledge of community, social, and mental health resources. Advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills. Ability to effectively manage conflict situations and aggressive behaviour and to use nonviolent crisis intervention and behavioural management techniques.
