Were building a thriving organization thats purposedriven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.ResponsibilitiesLeading and executing a wide range of large to midsized audits, review engagements and compilationsExperience working with ownermanaged private business clients within a public practice scope; experience in ASPE and ASNPO would be considered an assetAnalysis and review of corporate and personal income tax returnsResearch and business advisory on complex accounting and auditing mattersProviding solutions to our clients for accounting matters and working with them for growth in current business and financial conditionsLeading and executing client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectorsContributing to new business development by understanding all Doane Grant Thornton services and by using your credibility in the fieldActing as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business planParticipating in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team membersMaximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resourcesPlanning and leading teams to ensure that client expectations are exceededSupervision and mentoring of an accounting team, including the review of filesLeading through the coaching and performance management process of the practice by providing ongoing feedback, conducting timely performance reviews, and delivering training to develop team membersKey RequirementsCPA designation (or equivalent)At least 8 years accountingrelated experience, preference given to experience in public practiceSuperior technical expertise in accounting and auditing, both privately held business and notforprofit business experience an assetCommitment to quality, excellence and continual professional growth for yourself and for those you manageExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels and influence decisionmakersStrong management skills, especially in areas of scheduling, organizing, supervising and multiteam managingSelfmotivated, resultsoriented multitasker who works equally well independently and collaboratively with a desire to growStrong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growthNote: Our ideal candidate has experience in both audit and privately held business.
