Base Pay Range $96,783.00/yr - $118,145.00/yr Position Summary Mechanical Design Engineer III responsible for designing and developing robust and innovative medical devices and equipment to support the commercialisation of companydeveloped products. Responsibilities Research design options and perform experiments to determine potential design feasibility. Develop and test new manufacturing processes. Work closely with electrical and software engineers, designing with a systemwide perspective. Interact with global and internal design and manufacturing resources to design for manufacturability, reliability, and costeffectiveness. Specify and manage tool development. Create and release product requirements, design specifications and design descriptions for assigned projects, as required by applicable medical device standards and internal procedures. Follow all policies, procedures, and standards for engineering documentation to ensure compliance with corporate document management policies. Review product documentation for accuracy, including documentation intended for customers. Participate in designing, prototyping, testing and qualification of mechanical designs for highreliability and highperformance medical devices. Participate in or support risk assessment, design reviews, preproduction, pilot production, testing, and regulatory submissions. Support production activities and resolve issues quickly. Evaluate product nonconformances and recommend design modifications through advanced analytical and problemsolving techniques. Support the development of intellectual property. Qualifications 5+ years of technical product or mechanical device design and manufacturing experience. Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; Masters preferred. P.Eng from the EGBC preferred; ability and willingness to obtain a P.Eng license required. Excellent knowledge of and ability to use SolidWorks and SolidWorks addins. Experience in all areas of design, prototyping, testing and qualification. Experience with plastic injection mould tool design including insert moulding and overmould. Experience designing injection moulded parts and design for injection mould. Proven skills in developing projects in a medical device R&D department. Ability to define project goals and delivery dates to meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment. Experience in technical, teamfocused work environments. Can make independent judgments using sound engineering principles and techniques. Ability to write concisely and accurately with meticulous attention to detail.
