Curator of Exhibitions and Collections at the Art Museum, University of TorontoThe Art Museum at the University of Toronto is seeking a Curator of Exhibitions and Collections to join its team. The selected candidate will be responsible for researching, initiating, developing, and implementing original, guest-curated, and collection-based exhibitions that align with the museums innovative and forward-looking curatorial program. This role also involves engaging in outreach initiatives that expand the museums impact and foster meaningful connections within the arts community.Eligible LocationsGlobalYour responsibilities will include:Curating exhibitions and gallery installationsLiaising with creative professionals and vendors to generate and deliver creative conceptsImplementing plans and process improvements for program and service activitiesAnalyzing and making recommendations for programming enhancementsCreating and/or editing original, published content and materialsDeveloping and implementing community engagement strategies and plansCoordinating selection and acquisitioning processesDirecting the activities of a single ongoing staff-appointed employeeEssential Qualifications:Candidates must hold a Masters degree in Curatorial Studies or equivalent experience and have at least three years of senior curatorial experience, particularly in contemporary art, public art, and collections management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, experience coordinating exhibitions and public programs, proficiency with museum administration and grant writing, and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-racist practices within curatorial work.The Curator will lead the development of exhibitions and programs that engage both the university and wider communities locally and internationally. They will explore innovative curatorial approaches that rethink the relationship between art, place, and public space while promoting equity, sustainability, and inclusivity.
