Duties Maintaining working order of instruments/equipment/monitors Acting as liaison between clinic and Idexx services Ordering lab supplies Carrying out regular lab machine maintenance Supporting veterinarians in carrying out all daily activities Supervising patient and client care Managing veterinary technicians and assistants Arranging scheduling of techs and assistants Supervising and teaching Junior technicians Performing technical procedures without supervision in dogs, cats, and rabbits, including but not limited to: Collection of vital parameters such as temperature/pulse/respiration Venipuncture IV and urinary catheter placement Anesthetic induction and intubation Anesthetic monitoring and maintenance Surgical preparation Extubation and recovery from anesthetic Running blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples on inhouse Idexx machines Prepping blood, urine, fecal, and cytology samples for review by a pathologist at a sendout lab Producing radiographs Collecting and analyzing urinary and fecal samples Preparing and administering medications and vaccines Providing wound and bandage care Requirements Completion of a twoor threeyear animal health/veterinary technology college program is required 4+ years of experience is requiredExperience in teaching as evidenced by postgraduate or CE certifications is an asset Strong communication skills both written and verbal Ability to stand for long periods of time Manual dexterity Ability to work independently and in a team setting Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment Availability Available to work evenings and weekends as required #J-18808-Ljbffr
