The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine, in partnership with Acute Care Alberta, Continuing Care Alberta and Covenant Health, invites applications for an Internal Medicine accredited Geriatrician to be based at the University of Alberta Hospital. Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, part of the College of Health Sciences, is internationally recognized as among the world''s top 50 medical schools and as one of Canada''s premier health-education institutions. The University is currently home to more than 38,000 students with more than 15,000 faculty and staff. The Division of Geriatric Medicine is one of fourteen in the Department of Medicine. There are currently 14 geriatricians, academic and clinical, working across the Edmonton Zone, providing specialized geriatric medicine services to older adults, clinical education to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Division members research areas include incontinence, frailty, peri-operative care and dementia. Division members collaborate with the Faculty of Nursing on knowledge translation projects. Additionally, the Division offers a Royal College-approved residency program in Geriatric Medicine, ensuring the next generation of specialists is well-trained to meet the growing demand for the specialized care of older adults. The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure track appointment in the Department of Medicine, with the rank of Associate or Full Professor, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement and offers a comprehensive benefits package. Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the income scale of the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).
