As an Infrastructure Maintenance Engineer, you will join a team of highly technical and skilled professionals to coordinate and schedule asset maintenance and rehabilitation activities to support the delivery of reliable waste management facility operations and services, optimize the cost effectiveness of capital maintenance and rehabilitation works and extend the service life of facility assets. Primary duties include: Plan and manage infrastructure repair and maintenance projects, including corrective and preventive maintenance projects. Conduct field assessments and develop plans for on-demand repair requests. Provide technical expertise in procurement strategies and negotiations with consultants and contractors when required. Support the capital prioritization process and assist with development of the Infrastructure Maintenance budget. Support the review, preparation or update of technical documentation including reports, memos, proposals, drawings, maintenance plans, asset conditions, and other related documents. Build and foster networks and relationships with internal and external technical experts and landfill operations staff. Research innovative trends that could be applied to landfill infrastructure maintenance. Qualifications A degree in Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. A valid Class 5 Driver''s License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits OR a Class 5 Graduated Driver''s License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current charges or suspension pending is required. Must have the ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator''s permit. Previous experience with building maintenance operations, capital building upgrades, and building condition assessment and reporting will be considered key assets. Additional experience in erosion and sediment control, pavement management, soil mechanics, storm and wastewater collection systems, asset management, and project management will also be considered an asset. The successful applicant will possess skills to identify asset performance opportunities in the waste management facilities and to develop and implement tactical recommendations to achieve results. Success in this role requires strong communication, decision-making, critical and analytical thinking skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. Working Conditions: Office Environment, but with frequent need to conduct indoor and outdoor infrastructure site inspections.
