Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and qualified Grade 9 French Teacher to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the French language and a deep understanding of the Ontario Curriculum. They will inspire students to develop their communication skills in French while fostering an inclusive, engaging, and respectful classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver dynamic and differentiated lessons that align with the Ontario French curriculum for Grade 9 (Core,). Language Development: Teach listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in French with a focus on real-life communication and cultural understanding. Student Engagement: Encourage student participation and motivation through interactive activities, games, multimedia resources, and authentic language use. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment that promotes respect and academic success. Assessment & Reporting: Use a variety of assessment tools (diagnostic, formative, and summative) to evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback. Prepare report cards in accordance with school policies and Ministry expectations. Student Support: Identify and support individual learning needs, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to enhance student achievement and participate in school initiatives. Professional Development: Stay up to date with changes in the curriculum and pedagogy through continuous professional learning. Qualifications: 2 - 3 years of experience teaching French at the high school level (Grade 9 preferred) Bachelor''s degree in Education with a focus on French or a related subject Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) Certification with FSL (French as a Second Language) qualification Strong command of oral and written French Knowledge of the Ontario French curriculum and assessment strategies Strong classroom management skills and a passion for teaching adolescents Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive and inclusive classroom Additional Opportunities: We are also accepting applications for high school Math, Science, and English teachers for the upcoming school year.
