As a Process Safety Engineering student in the Supply, Products and Terminals business unit, you will be an integral part of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team that ensures safety, compliance, and emergency preparedness across Irving Oil''s network of marine terminals and associated operations. This role provides an opportunity to gain on the job experience in applying engineering principles to real world safety challenges. With a focus on engineered safety, you will be assessing technical and process risks and developing solutions to protect against losses. You will also be exposed to other aspects of safety management including Personal Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Environmental Management and Regulatory compliance What You''ll Do: Contribute to Process Safety engineering studies, calculations, and analysis Participate in Risk Assessments, Incident Investigations and other safety reviews Collect and analyze data on Process Safety and EHS metrics; manage databases. Assist in developing and implementing EHS and Process Safety programs and procedures Support ad-hoc projects related to safety, emergency management and compliance Your Skills : Problem solving mindset with the ability to interpret data and make evidence-based recommendations Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Collaborative team player with the ability to take initiative and influence positive change Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Data Analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) is an asset.
