Responsibilities Job Qualifications Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) by supporting procedures, training, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring alignment with relevant standards. Work collaboratively to meet all permit, and regulatory requirements ,overseeing reporting, inspections, and submissions for water, air, waste, tailings, and hazardous substances Oversee the execution of environmental monitoring programs for water, air, quality, wild life, and biodiversity, ensuring accurate data, and timely analysis to inform decisions. Lead the identification, assessment, prioritization, and management of environmental risks. Support risk management and incident response by leading investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing practical corrective and preventive measures. Provide guidance on environmental requirements for projects, work plans, and contractor activities, integrating standards into operational procedures. Foster team growth and collaboration by coaching Environmental Specialists, Supervisors, and Technologists, while managing contractors, consultants and resources effectively. Build respectful relationships with regulators, Indigenous partners, and community stakeholders, preparing clear briefings and supporting consultation commitments. Champion sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction, water stewardship, reclamation planning, and continuous improvement against site KPIs. Key Skills & Knowledge Bachelor''s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Earth/Geoscience, or a closely related field. Relevant Experience 7+ years of progressive environmental experience in mining or comparable heavy industry, including field monitoring and regulatory compliance/reporting. 3+ years in a supervisory or lead capacity managing teams and contractors. Demonstrated experience with permitting, licence compliance, audits/inspections, incident investigations, and stakeholder/regulatory engagement. Strong data management and analysis skills; ability to translate requirements into clear procedures and operational controls. This role leads the site''s environmental function, ensuring compliance with regulatory, permit, and corporate requirements while promoting responsible mining practices. The Superintendent manages the Environmental Management System (EMS), oversees monitoring and reporting programs for water, air, waste, tailings, and biodiversity, and drives continuous improvement in sustainability. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, and Site Services, the position provides guidance for safe, compliant work, resolves issues promptly, and represents the site with regulators, Indigenous partners, and community stakeholders. The incumbent builds team capability, sets clear standards, and fosters a strong culture of environmental stewardship.
