Maintenance Planner Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Compensation: $36.65 CAD per hour Position Summary The safety and health of employees take precedence over all other responsibilities in this role. Under the general supervision of the Plant Maintenance Engineer, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling daily maintenance activities required to properly maintain all plant equipment. The primary focus of this position is to plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities that support a culture of Zero Breakdowns through proactive maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule all maintenance jobs with safety as the top priority Ensure all maintenance work is thoroughly planned and scheduled in a timely manner Communicate planned work clearly to all affected departments and stakeholders Ensure all required parts, tools, and materials are properly kitted and available prior to job execution Collaborate and strategize with maintenance owners on required work and priorities Identify areas for improvement, including safety risks and preventive maintenance task enhancements Assist in developing and executing continuous improvement plans Own and plan maintenance downtime to ensure all required work can be completed effectively Maintain and utilize CMMS systems at an advanced level Support and reinforce preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across the plant Work closely with all levels of the organization to plan, schedule, and communicate daily maintenance activities Ensure maintenance work is executed efficiently with no delays due to missing parts, tools, or manpower Partner with maintenance owners to ensure PM tasks are thorough, timely, and effective in eliminating breakdowns Qualifications & Skills Strong understanding of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Solid maintenance background with emphasis on mechanical systems Advanced organizational and planning skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership and collaboration abilities Ability to work in a structured, process-driven environment Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills High level of technical aptitude Strong work ethic and self-motivation Preferred Characteristics Excellent leadership skills Highly technical with hands-on maintenance knowledge Preventive maintenance experience Fair, consistent, and professional approach Detail-oriented with strong process discipline
