Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Transition Leader (MM5) Posting #25.070 2 Permanent openings and 1 Temporary opening (12/5/26 8/31/27) for the Learning Services Special Education division of the Waterloo Region District School Board. Reporting to the Superintendent of Student Achievement and WellBeing (Special Education) through the System Administrator (Special Education), the successful candidate will support principals, teachers and support staff by providing and coordinating training and supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This Midmanagement Level 5 position offers a salary of $106,586 to $124,069, requires 35 hours per week for 12 months per year, and is effective January 5, 2026. Responsibilities Provide support to principals, teachers and paraprofessional staff in the use of ABA strategies. Provide and coordinate ASD/ABA training and resources. Support children and youth transitioning from the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) to school (e.g., observe therapy sessions, attend case conferences, support reintegration into class). Liaise with parents/caregivers and community partners associated with the OAP. Facilitate collaboration between service providers and schools. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Completion of a university degree is required. Postgraduate studies or equivalent field experience in autism and behavioural science is preferred. Preference will be given to Board Certified Behaviour Analysts registered or registering with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts. Experience providing and/or facilitating adult learning and training. Experience working with children and youth who have Special Education Needs, in particular those diagnosed with ASD. Training in ABA principles from a recognised institution. Knowledge of the Elementary and Secondary Education System in Ontario. Familiarity with Special Education issues, particularly those relevant for children and youth with autism spectrum disorders. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and coordinating skills. A valid Ontario drivers licence, with access to a personal vehicle.
