What Youll Be Working On Supports Savers vision by assisting in the daily management of team members, equipment, and associated support staff. Working under the direction of the Warehouse Assistant Manager for Wholesale, this position coordinates essential product supply for shipping. This position does not have direct reports. Essential Job Functions Supervises and leads the assigned department within the distribution center. Establishes working relationships with warehouse vendors and collaborates with management when new vendors are required. Plans daily staffing for time managers (TMs) and, if needed, brings in temporary workers to meet staffing requirements. Develops plans for efficient use of materials and machinery (conveyor, vertical balers, forklifts and tractor/trailers). Monitors and reviews all equipment, procedures and practices to ensure proper safety and work conditions, in accordance with Savers / VVS policies and applicable state and federal laws. Participates in and leads department or companywide projects in support of the company goals and objectives. Facilitates efficient use of warehouse space to store and ship seasonal product. Assists management in TM reviews and disciplinary actions, including documenting incidents, conflict resolution and defining solutions. Steps into each supervisor role with short notice to meet daily warehouse product/shipping demand. Certified forklift operator. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of Savers store operations preferred. Working knowledge of provincial and Savers / VVS safety regulations and requirements. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook). Demonstrated skills in supervision, management and leadership. Demonstrated skills in inventory management. Demonstrated customer service skills. Demonstrated organizational skills. Knowledge of unloading shipping containers. Ability to create reports and assign orders to appropriate locations. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Ability to make and influence decisions. Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multitask with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to provide direction to customers. Ability to participate on and lead projects. High attention to detail and strong verbal communication skills. Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience Two to three years of supervisory experience or related experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be able to train internally and obtain a forklift certificate. Physical Requirements Occasional lifting up to 70 lbs. Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the day. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication. Ability to receive detailed information visually through written communication.
