The CRA seeks a temporary assignment for an agency staff member to support the collection and compliance functions.Key ActivitiesInitiate contact with taxpayers, their representatives, and third parties to gather information and documents to collect outstanding amounts and resolve or refer compliance issues for an assigned workload.Review and analyse account and taxpayer information to establish filing, reporting, and payment deficiencies, hardship, ability to pay, and identify sources of recovery.Receive and respond to mail, telephone, and inoffice enquiries and complaints from taxpayers and representatives.Verify or research taxpayer information by using internal and external sources and by making requests for fieldwork such as outofoffice interviews with taxpayers, attending insolvency proceedings, and other events.Initiate and follow through with all legal actions until completion in accordance with Agency policies and procedures to collect or encumber assets to safeguard the Agencys interests.Locations (Western Region)Vancouver, BCSurrey, BCVictoria, BCPrince George, BCPenticton, BCEdmonton, ABCalgary, ABRed Deer, ABLethbridge, ABWinnipeg, MBRegina, SKSaskatoon, SKEducationSuccessful completion of a secondary school diploma.Experience Essential Staffing RequirementsRecent and significant experience in collecting outstanding debt (six months within the last two years).Recent and significant experience in the credit industry (assessment of creditworthiness for individuals or corporate clients).Recent and significant experience providing telephone customer service (responding to inquiries, resolving complaints, negotiating).Recent and significant experience in financial or accounting services, preparing or reviewing financial statements, or in a professional sales environment.AssessmentUnsupervised online test Korn Ferry Entry Level (cognitive abilities and behavioural competencies).Ability to communicate effectively in English verbal communication.Ability to prioritise and manage difficult conversations.Asset Staffing RequirementsResearch ability.Reference checks.Secondary language evaluation (bilingual imperative).Availability throughout the appointment.Program continuity.Budgetary considerations.Duration of appointment and start date.Conditions of EmploymentReliability and security are required.Willingness to work overtime and complete required training.Physically work inoffice at the selected location on a fulltime basis.Employment EquityThe CRA recognises the importance of employment equity (EE).
