Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers and technologists to build advanced marine technology. Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or low-voltage electronics, perform repairs and assist with new equipment setup. Follow detailed procedures and interpret drawings, schematics, routing cards, and bill of matierals. Assemble components and systems using mechanical and electro-mechanical techniques. Perform product tests including pressure, load, and environmental testing. Contribute to the refinement and improvement of product design and documentation, and resolve assembly issues with cross-functional teams. Prepare materials and use adhesives and compounds for bonding and encapsulation. Complete production and quality records, and manage non-conforming parts per ISO standards. Work safely in a dynamic manufacturing environment, following all safety procedures, and maintain a clean, hazard-free workstation. Qualifications High school diploma/GED equivalent, and/or relevant workplace experience. Formal trades training from a recognized college preferred. 10 years of prior experience working with equipment for marine use, electro-mechanical devices, assembly of complex mechanical systems and components, test engineering, bonded assembly or encapsulation considered an asset. Proficient computer literacy suitable for update and release of documents and referencing technical documentation. Experience or willingness to learn engineering documentation. Physical requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs independently.
