As a senior member of Kardium Inc.s Quality Engineering team, and in close collaboration with Executive Management, the Director, Process Quality Engineering will be responsible for all strategic decisions and activities for enhancing Kardium Inc.s Process Quality Engineering infrastructure to support our commercial production ramp up and expansions to other regions. This role provides strategic leadership and governance over production controls, supplier quality, and the investigation of product quality issues, establishing a strong foundation for robust, compliant, and scalable manufacturing processes. The Director drives continuous improvement and riskreduction initiatives, partnering with Operations, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain leadership to enable sustained manufacturing excellence and longterm business performance. Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities - Define and lead the regional Process Quality Engineering strategy to ensure scalable, compliant, and capable manufacturing processes aligned with business growth and medical device regulatory requirements. - Establish the regional Process Quality Engineering organizational model, capabilities, and infrastructure to support current and future manufacturing needs, providing leadership and development for Process Quality Engineering Managers and their teams. - Develop and own a multiyear process quality roadmap focused on reducing variability, strengthening process capability, and enabling operational excellence. - Serve as a strategic quality partner to Operations and R&D leadership, influencing manufacturing and design decisions to improve yield, reduce defects, and enhance longterm process robustness. - Define, standardize, and govern Process Quality Engineering metrics and KPIs to drive enterpriselevel visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement. You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes: - Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or related disciplines) or a closely related technical field. Master's degree preferred - 1215+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or process engineering within the medical device industry. - 58+ years of people leadership experience managing managers and crossfunctional teams within a multinational organization. - Demonstrated experience supporting highvolume and/or complex manufacturing environments. - Indepth knowledge of FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485, and applicable global regulatory requirements. - Experience using quality management tools for process improvement and cost reduction - Advanced understanding of statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and datadriven quality methodologies and driving root cause analysis - Strong influencing and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with senior leaders across Operations, R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain. Compensation Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates withmore or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted. As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardiums stock option plan. - $195,000 $200,000 (CAD Annually) Total cash the total cash weve listed for this position includes a base salary, plus a contribution to a Registered Retirement Savings plans (RRSP) to help support your financial goals.
