As a Construction and Maintenance Projects Coordinator Student, you will join our Network Development Construction and Acquisition Team located within our Irving Oil Home Office in Saint John. The Construction and Acquisition team plays a vital role in supporting retail and fleet operations. Core functions of this team include managing the development of new retail fueling stations, upgrades to existing sites, and replacement of petroleum equipment, while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. The scope of work spans project planning, site design, and cross-functional collaboration with real estate, leasing, and environmental teams. As a student, you will gain exposure to projects at various stages such as land acquisition, permitting, design, and construction. This position offers the unique opportunity to visit active construction sites and attend meetings with contractors, consultants, and governing bodies, providing hands-on experience in project management and development. Responsibilities: Build and maintain databases, document management, and data analysis Review construction drawings and related documents for accuracy and compliance Populate equipment and drawing databases to support project workflows Assist Project Managers with tasks such as preliminary site plan development, zoning summaries, attending construction project meetings and tracking schedules Support and contribute to various team initiatives of both long-term and short-term projects Your Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems Comfortable asking questions and engaging with cross-functional teams Strong communication skills; entrepreneurial mindset French language proficiency is considered an asset Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel Your Experience: Currently pursuing a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Civil or Mechanical Technology programs with an accredited college Must have completed at least 1 or more years of post-secondary education and be returning to school Familiarity with construction drawings and database tools (GIS or CAD experience is an asset) What We Offer: Professional Development Student focused learning & development sessions, mentorships and networking events Student Benefits Housing allowance, co-op fee reimbursement and parking allowance for qualifying candidates.
