This position is suitable for applicants with an education background who are interested in starting a career in instructional design. As an Instructional Designer (ID), you will work closely with Project Leads (PL), Subject Matter Experts (SME) and Multimedia Developers (MMD) to help create engaging e-learning courseware for our defence clients. You will create highly interactive courseware and custom training solutions that meet the specific requirements of our defence clients. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with SMEs and MMDs to support lesson development; Creating lesson plans (Lesson Design Documents) that outline the structure, content and media approach for each unit of learning; Creating lesson outlines that describe the lesson structure, high-level content and initial media descriptions; Organizing content into clear, logical topics that support the learning objective(s); Creating storyboards by drafting text, navigation directives and initial media descriptions, while following established style guides and writing standards; Preparing media requests, tracking media development and incorporating finished media into lessons; Building interactive courseware using e-learning authoring tools, with guidance from senior team members; Revising lessons based on feedback from internal quality assurance reviews and client comments; Assisting in drafting help systems, instructor guides and student guides; and Participating in peer reviews and offering support to other IDs, as needed. Qualifications A post-secondary degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field or a degree in any discipline with relevant expereince or coursework; Up to one year of experience creating instructional materials, lesson plans, curriculum, or digital courseware (school projects, internships, or volunteer experience are welcome); Clear and confident communication skills; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with guidance from senior team members; Strong research and writing abilities, with an interest in learning how to apply them to eLearning; Bilingualism in English/French is an asset but not required; Eligibility to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance.
