We are specialists in developing enterprise/agency wide robotics programs which provide enhanced situational awareness and inspection capability resulting in better decision making. Our solutions are used daily by industrial, commercial, government (all levels) and educational entities across Canada, the USA and are generating interest internationally.We are looking for a new Director of Flight Operations to join our team to support our pilots and customers in the field to ensure they have successful operations. Our customers are serious people doing serious jobs likesaving lives, and keeping the lights on, so it is imperative that we make their lives as easy as possible. This role is the key part in ensuring that everything stays working. Ideally you are a commercial UAS operator with proven experience in multiple verticals (heavy industries preferred).Experience managing UAS field teams is a major plus (either internal to a major end user or with a prime drone contractor / reseller).You are comfortable with various data collection and processing workflows. See resume and cover submission instructions below in the Applications section.This role has 3 key functions:Overseeing all RMUS Field Operations: Demo Fleet, Pilot/Operator Certification and Training.Leading and Executing RMUSs industry leading onboarding process.Supporting our Field Teams with Demonstrations and installs with solid process and systems and ensuring TC, Internal, and Customer Compliance standards are met.What you will doBe an expert in the operations of core RMUS Product lines: Parrot, DJI, Boston Dynamics and others by building technical and operation relationships with these key vendors,Ultimate technical authority on equipment and use-cases,Highest level field work - Key accounts, challenging use-cases, high-value POCs, Training and Maintaining field team to established standards of qualification and proficiency - compliance of field operations, personnel, and equipment,Develop customer training programs,Manage training contractors, their qualifications and proficiency,Develop and deliver internal training I.e. Technical briefing for sales team when new equipment or use-cases,Support Transport Canada licensing and SFOC development,Participate in the Product Strategy committee discussions.The Ideal Candidate:-5 Years of Commercial UAS/RPAS flight experience(DJI specific is a plus).-TC Advanced flight certificate. -A technical background, either RC builder, technical certificate in Electronics, Engineering or similar from College or vocational institute.-An impeccable communication style - you have exceptional and proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present in a compelling manner.-Detail-oriented, self-sufficient, resourceful, organized, and proactive.-The ability to solve complex problems (or know where to find the answer).-Commitment to long-term growth and learning. -Adept at juggling multiple priorities and knows the importance of keeping everything well documented and organized.Nice to haves:-Experience developing and applying for SFOCs.-Existing relationships with key Transport Canada Personnel.-Experience training and designing training programs.-TC Flight Reviewer Status.-TC Complex License.-Entrepreneurial mindset, maybe even started a business alreadyWhat we offer:-An exciting position with one of North Americas leading Remotely Operated Systems companies.-An environment that focuses on developing your skills and career.-Competitive compensation and stellar group health benefits (life, extended health and dental).-RRSP Match program.-Participation in the performance bonus program.LocationThis is a full time in person position.
