For more information on this process, please refer to the Alberta Education website Position Description Responsibilities Under the guidance of the Principal and in compliance with the Education Act and CBE regulations: Establishes clear objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of Alberta Education, and communicates these objectives to students. Prepares for assigned classes, and demonstrates written evidence of preparation upon request. Prepares materials for learning, and classrooms for activities, as appropriate. Instructs using a variety of instructional approaches appropriate for grade level, student needs and program focus. Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate. Assigns lessons and corrects homework. Observes and evaluates students'' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Prepares, administers, and grades a variety of student evaluative tools such as projects, tests, assignments in order to evaluate students'' progress. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct student records as required.
