Requirements Job Overview Avenue Road Music and Performance Academy, a Registered Charity and home of the Gordon Lightfoot Concert Hall, seeks an experienced talented professional to serve as the Director of Finance, Policy, and Administration. The position at the outset is half-time or full-time. Financial management responsibilities include bookkeeping through Quickbooks software, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and calculating payroll. The Director also drafts policies, maintains the organization''s Code of Conduct and Employee handbook, and oversees all administrative management and supplier services to the building. The ideal candidate will have accounting credentials, hands-on experience with Quickbooks software, and have a proven track record in administration in a school, non-profit or arts environment. The Academy is a vibrant, growing Arts organization in mid-town Toronto with programs in music, dance and theatre, and currently serves an age-range from 4 years old to 90 years old. Implement, hands-on, all aspects of financial reporting, including daily bookkeeping, invoicing, bill payment, payroll, and monthly preparation of financial statements, analysis of profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for Registered Charities Initiate development of policies in all areas of safety, integrity, and financial transactions. Oversee building security and maintenance Collaborate with management team on business development and fund-raising Requirements Proven success in an operations and finance role Career experience in education or the arts Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and administration of a contract staff payroll Proficiency in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Experience with CRA Registered Charity rules and processes Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Proactive approach to problem-solving; passion to succeed ''Must-haves'' (please do not apply if any of these cannot be met) Hands-on facility with Quickbooks software Live within 10 km of the Academy Experience in a school setting, or in Music/arts performance or teaching .
