Youth Leadership Development Lead TNO - The Neighbourhood Organization (TNO) is a well-established community-based social and health service agency providing a wide range of programs and services supporting low-income and newcomer communities across Ontario and sometimes across different provinces through online services and referrals. We are seeking one Youth Leadership Development Lead to join our team in a full-time contract role until March 31, 2027. The successful candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in a community-based or youth-focused role, such as delivering youth programs, facilitating workshops, or coordinating recreational or community initiatives. Experience supporting at-risk or marginalized youth, youth employment programs, and program development is considered an asset, along with knowledge of community and public sectors and an understanding of systemic barriers affecting youth and newcomers. Candidates must demonstrate social and multicultural sensitivity, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and databases. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings or weekends as needed, is essential to meet program and organizational needs. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Pro-actively conduct outreach out and engage youth in a variety of settings across the community, focusing on the assigned stream. Work with members of the Youth team to provide regular face-to-face interaction, programming and recreational opportunities with youth during drop-in-times and weekend/scheduled times. Meet with youth in groups and one-on-one to support their development. Work collaboratively with youth and team members to co-create and implement programming and activities that address their identified needs and support youth-defined goals-including community development activities as identified with youth. Work collaboratively with TNO-based cross-skilled team specific to the assigned stream. Work collaboratively with other partners and organizations working with youth in the same stream. Support youth-defined engagement in community- and agency-sponsored events and activities. Foster an environment where respecting differences is encouraged by working together, facilitating discussion, using active listening skills, and developing mutual understanding. Be familiar with/adhere to all TNO and the Youth Center operation rules, and be able to articulate policies to visitors and youth. Maintain records of youth attendance at events, programs and activities. Maintain nuanced records of each youth in order to identify development, surface needs, and provide support in the youth''s developmental journey. Enter client and case management information into the appropriate database(s) in a timely and accurate manner. Submits required reports as requested by the management and funders. Monitor program trends, emerging needs and successes. Maintain up-to-date understanding of promising practices in the youth service field. Jointly with service partners conducts program promotion in community social landmarks Participates in and supports local community events. Assists in outreach, distributing and updating materials.
