Customs and Compliance Manager - (Import/Export Consumer Products) Inside Sales Representative Job Description: Link Product Solutions Limited is one of Canada''s fastest-growing suppliers of Seasonal, Stationery, and General Merchandise products to independent and major retailers across North America, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, independent, hands-on, self-starter with a proven track record in all aspects of Customs and Compliance management; establishing standard operating procedures and the implementation of effective systems to support the Company''s vision, goals and objectives. Primary Responsibilities but not limited to the following : Full responsibility for managing all aspects of Customs and Compliance Working closely with Canada Customs, US customs, their corresponding regulatory bodies and our various company partners to facilitate all cross border trade into and out of Canada and the United states. Audit commercial documents and apply harmonized tariff schedule codes for accurate duty assessment Manage all import and export licensing for the company and its affiliates Liaise with Marketing/Buying Teams to provide Customs expertise on current and proposed products to be sourced. i.e. duty rates, tariff treatments, Provide input into the appropriate import declaration and regulatory governance of participating Government Agencies (Canada) or Partnering Government Agencies (USA). Manage, develops and maintains company''s product database - adds new commodities/HS/Tariff treatment/Tariff codes, etc. Selection, approval and ongoing review of preferred Customs and logistics partners for land, air and ocean shipments with emphasis on rate negotiation, service expectations and on time performance Classify transport and hazard requirements and customs tariffs Manage companies CPSC database including Conformity Certificates and lab reporting from overseas vendors Manage problems that might arise related to the companies import and export transactions. Assist the shipping teams when needed to ensure accuracy on export documents. Export HTS on B13''s and ERP systems. Manage Vendor USMCA Certificates Rate shopping carriers for US bound shipments and large domestic shipments Managing the booking of delivery appointments through customer booking portals Working directly with vendors, customers, our overseas offices, company brokers and other partners to meet company objectives Keep updated on regulatory and general compliance for accuracy and to provide guidance Provide in house staff training on procedures and processes; respond to questions/provide direction/add information as required Perform other related duties and projects as assigned Qualifications: Minimum 5 years related customs and compliance experience with knowledge of Canada Customs and OGD requirements, procedures and regulations. Designation of CCS - Certified Customs Specialist; or LCB - Licensed Customs Broker designation. CTCS - Certified Trade Compliance Specialist either attained, or in progress is preferred. Knowledge of and keeping updated on all Canada Customs and OGD requirements, procedures and regulations Familiar with industry related websites to search for information - CRA, CFIA, RIV, etc. Proficient knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule and regulations required Strong technical skills in the field of Canadian Customs Compliance as well as an informed understanding of knowledge of CAED, CERS - Canada Export Reporting System; CBSA and the CFIA - Canadian Food Inspection Agency, USMCA, FDA, CPSC Proficient in using MS Office with advanced excel skills Detail and result oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills Strong professional communication skills and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment If you are a passionate and hands-on - Customs and Compliance Manager that meets the above criteria, we would like to hear from you.
