Our Organization The National Diabetes Trust is Canadas largest charitable clothing and small household good collection service. With more than 5,000 donation bins and an active home pickup service in communities across Canada (excluding Quebec), we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. Each year the program diverts more than 100 million pounds of items from landfill sites. As a National Diabetes Trust employee, you are part of our national coverage in 2,500 communities, with 28 operations and 100 trucks. What We Offer Independent work with flexible parttime hours during the week Opportunity to earn extra income compensation varies depending on volume of donations collected and stored As an independent contractor, eligible for CRA deductions such as vehicle, gas, maintenance, and technology About The Drop Box Attendant Role As an independent contractor, you will focus on collection and storage of recycled textiles and small household items from Diabetes Canada donation bins placed throughout the community. The Guelph Drop Box Attendant will service 7 sites, with 7 bins in total. Estimated income: approx. $350+ per month. Role: 8 hours per week, or as needed. Highlights Of The Role Empty donation bins on a regular basis (schedule provided) Bag loose items as required (bags supplied) Ensure cleanliness around the donation boxes Complete weekly service log sheets Transport goods to storage facility when required (storage supplied) Meet Diabetes Canada driver to load goods on truck About You Only applicants who operate/own a large vehicle such as a van, cube van, or pickup truck will be considered Must have a valid drivers license Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis Must have or be willing to get an HST # (free, and we will help you obtain) Eligible for CRA deductions such as vehicle, gas, maintenance, and technology Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement At National Diabetes Trust, we are guided by our values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect.
