Campus LocationVancouver IslandEmployment TypeFull-time RegularClosing DateThis posting will remain open until filled with a first review of candidates on January 15, 2026Position SummaryWe are currently seeking a Lead Instructor, Primary Care Paramedic, to deliver the Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Program at our Vancouver Island Campus (Langford). In this role, you will ensure program quality by aligning content with industry best practices and overseeing sessional faculty to maintain consistent educational standards. You will deliver the PCP curriculum using a variety of instructional methods, collaborating closely with faculty to ensure the program is engaging, effective, and meets the needs of our students.Your leadership will be essential in managing the day-to-day program delivery, mentoring new faculty, and ensuring the care and organization of program equipment. A consistent presence for students, you will provide personalized feedback, conduct evaluations, and facilitate tutorials and retests as needed. You'll also play a key role in supporting students' academic progression, identifying those at risk, and connecting them with appropriate resources. As the primary link between students and program management, you will work with Regional Training Coordinators and Program Managers to support student success.Beyond teaching, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to program development, curriculum review, and accreditation processes. Collaborating with other program leads, you'll ensure that the PCP program remains at the forefront of paramedic education. If you have extensive experience as a Primary Care Paramedic, strong leadership skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring the next generation of paramedics, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity!Qualifications & RequirementsRequired QualificationsRecent experience as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or higher within the past five years.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, web browsers, mobile devices, and Blackboard.Strong organizational and problemsolving skills, with the ability to manage pressure and respond to student needs.Sound judgment and sensitivity when handling complex issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Program Managers, instructors, and other key interest holders.Willingness and ability to travel as needed.The ability to deliver content in person and online.Preferred QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Education, Clinical Practice).Experience as an instructor or evaluator, delivering PCP, EMR, FR, and/or FA courses.Demonstrated competency in adult education and instructional design, including familiarity with learning technologies and supervision models.Completion of JIBC INDC1110 Essential Skills for Training and Facilitation course or equivalent is an asset.
