Senior Cost Consultant (Estimator/Quantity Surveyor) Join to apply for the Senior Cost Consultant (Estimator/Quantity Surveyor) role at BTY Group. Base pay range: CA$60,000.00/yr CA$100,000.00/yr. Our Cost Management team delivers expert cost planning, estimating and change management across the full development cycle for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional and infrastructure projects. We provide clear, datadriven insights at every design stage, advising on constructability, escalation, contingency, cash flow and lifecycle costs to reduce risk and maximise value. Powered by a robust database of material and labour costs, our accredited professionals benchmark and markettest every estimate, ensuring accuracy across regions, asset classes and changing market conditions. What You Get to Do Prepare the quantification of materials using BTYs measurement software to prepare cost estimates in accordance with the CIQS Rules of Measurement, elemental format, and where required, divisional trade format. Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications. Attend periodic site inspections as needed to assess the costtocomplete and workinplace for construction work. Provide proactive cost management advice and ensure the client understands the content of our reports. Prepare estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pretender stage. Conduct quality assurance and quality checks (QA/QC) of cost management reports. Complete assessments and analysis of any cost variances between estimate stages. Prepare changeorder review analysis and lifecycle cost estimates. Prepare technical components and fees for proposals. Provide coaching and guidance to junior level team members as designated, including introduction to site visits. Network occasionally promoting the business, crossselling and building new contacts and enhancing client relationships. What Youll Bring 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience. Minimum 2 years of experience mentoring team members. University degree or equivalent in architectural building technology, estimating, quantity surveying, finance, construction engineering or project management. Working towards or holding a professional qualification such as PQS and/or MRICS. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Cost X, Planswift or relevant estimating software. Advanced knowledge of specialist consultant reports and their impact on development proposals. Advanced knowledge of the construction industrydevelopment, contracting and consultant services . Strong analytical and interpersonal skills combined with sound judgment and initiative. Responsive to internal and external stakeholder requests. Selfmotivated with excellent organisational, communication and reportwriting skills. Ability to work in a team environment and to own initiatives. Wage The wage range for the role (NOC22303 Construction Estimators) is $80,000$120,000 per year based on work experience and qualifications. The position is eligible for discretionary annual bonus and/or performancepay increase based on performance.
