Position Details Location: Prince Rupert, BC, on Tsmsyen Territory Start Date: January 15, 2026 Salary Range:4030;000 60,000 depending on skills and experience. Position Status: Full Time (32 hours/week), Salaried. Position Summary We are looking for a handson and adaptable Project Coordinator to support our North Coast fisheries monitoring programs. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to work alongside fishermen on the dock, while also contributing to program coordination, data management, report preparation, and training support. The successful candidate will help coordinate program activities and timelines, while supporting highquality data collection and reporting in line with Ecotrust Canadas Quality Management System. This position working closely with monitors and technology partners,Buttons, supporting training and recruitment, and contributing to contracts, proposals and funding applications. The role is well suited to someone with strong organizational skills, some familiarity with fisheries in BC, and experience working with First Nations and industry partners. This position also involves fieldwork, including dockside monitoring and vesselbased activities, and requires travel as needed throughout the fishing season. The Project Coordinator is expected to manage their 32hour work who is required to respond to offloads or other requests outside office hours, especially during the summer fishing season. Note: The Project Coordinator must not hold a fishers registration card, purchase fish for resale, or be affiliated with a business that catches, cultures, processes, or transports fish. Specific Duties And Responsibilities Coordinate project activities, schedules, and timelines in support of program objectives. Work with technology partners to support data entry and electronic monitoring tools. Conduct data collection, entry, quality checks, and reporting as per Ecotrust Canadas Quality Management System. Manage and hold the hail phone during the fishing season, including updating the hail sheet and responding to inquiries from fishermen. Support the recruitment, scheduling, and training of monitors. Participate in dockside offload validations and vesselbased activities as required. Assist with preparing program reports (e.g., postseason reports). Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences as needed. Participate in biweekly staff meetings and annual staff retreats. Carry out all responsibilities in a regionally and culturally respectful way that prioritizes the wellbeing of community and Nation partners. Valid Class 5 drivers licence and access to a vehicle. Skills And Qualifications Strong organizational and coordination skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Selfmotivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Comfortable with working on docks, fishing vessels, and handling fish. Some experience in fisheries or a similar field is an asset but not a requirement. Comfortable with technology and digital tools, including data entry systems and reporting platforms. Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with First Nations and stakeholders. Willingness to travel as required throughout the fishing season. Ability to obtain nai Security Clearance from Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Understanding of Canadas colonial history, its ongoing impacts on Indigenous communities, and a commitment to decolonisation, reconciliation, and justiceseeking endeavours.
