For electricians and construction professionals who want steady work, supportive leadership, and the chance to contribute to something bigger than a single job, Aurora Electric offers a place to build a career with purpose.For more information, please visit our website: auroraelec.caAbout the OpportunityAurora Electric Inc. is looking for a full-time Project Manager based in Nanaimo, British Columbia, working on site across Vancouver Island projects.Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position is accountable for the planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical construction projects, with ownership of schedules, budgets, site coordination, client communication, and change management from start through close-out.In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing multi-unit residential and commercial electrical projects, coordinating site teams and office partners, maintaining schedule and cost control, and serving as the main point of contact for clients and general contractors.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Managing electrical projects from handover through completion, including start-up planning and close-outCoordinating field crews, forepersons, subcontractors, and office staff to keep work moving as plannedMonitoring budgets, labour projections, and work-in-progress in collaboration with the Branch Manager and ControllerPreparing and pricing change orders, tracking scope changes, and maintaining clear cost documentationCommunicating directly with clients, consultants, and general contractors throughout the project lifecycleReviewing drawings, shop drawings, and as-built documentation prior to and during constructionOverseeing material coordination, site readiness, and manpower planningSupporting site safety practices and compliance with the Canadian Electrical CodeTo read the full position description, please click here.About YouTo qualify, you will need a Red Seal Electrician certification, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience coordinating site teams and supporting electrical construction projects from start through completion.The following are required:A valid drivers licenceAbility and willingness to travel across Vancouver Island as project needs requireComfort working on active construction sites, including working at heights when necessaryAdditionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Experience managing multi-unit residential and commercial electrical projectsFamiliarity with Accubid, Bluebeam, or comparable estimating and takeoff softwareBackground preparing and pricing change orders during active constructionStrong working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical CodeExposure to budget tracking, labour forecasting, and work-in-progress reportingExperience coordinating field crews, forepersons, consultants, and vendorsFSR-A or FSR-B certification, or interest in working toward certificationDiploma or training in project or construction managementAs our ideal candidate, you bring clear communication habits, strong organization, sound judgement, and a steady approach to problem solving, paired with a team-first mindset, accountability for your work, and respect for client relationships.
