Togala Construction is looking for Construction Safety Officers to support our site teams across active projects. This role is central to how we operate on site. Safety at Togala is practical, visible, and supported by leadership, and the CSO plays a key role in making that happen every day.Youll work directly on site alongside Superintendents, Project Managers, and trades to identify risks early, enforce safety standards, and support a culture where people take responsibility for themselves and each other. This is a hands on role for someone who is confident on active construction sites and comfortable stepping in when something isnt right.What youll doBe present on site supporting and enforcing Togalas Health and Safety ProgramConduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC requirementsLead safety orientations for new workers and subcontractorsStop unsafe work or activities immediately when requiredInvestigate incidents and near misses, including documentation and follow up actionsMaintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and site documentationLead toolbox talks and safety meetings in a practical, site focused wayAssist with Job Hazard Assessments, Safe Work Practices, and Safe Job ProceduresMonitor subcontractor safety compliance and support site auditsWork closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to address safety concerns proactivelyWhat you bringEducationDegree, diploma, or certification in Occupational Health and Safety preferredExperience4 to 5 years of health and safety experience in the construction industryComfortable working full time on active construction sitesProject ExperienceExperience on residential, multi family, or mid rise projectsExperience working on sites with public interface is an assetCertificationsAdvanced First Aid certificationCSO or NCSO certification, or currently working toward certificationRegulatory KnowledgeStrong understanding of WorkSafe BC and BC OH&S regulationsAbility to apply safety requirements in real site conditionsSkills & ApproachClear and confident communicatorAble to enforce rules respectfully and consistentlyStrong documentation and organizational skillsLeads by example and builds trust on sitePractical, calm, and solutions focusedWhy work at TogalaTogala is built for people who want to grow, not just fill a role.
