About the client:Our client is a global leader in indoor air solutions, specializing in high-performance ventilation, air distribution, and life-safety systems for commercial, healthcare, laboratory, and industrial environments. They partner closely with consultants, contractors, and building owners to design and deliver advanced HVAC solutions that meet the highest standards of performance and sustainability. Their projects include hospitals, laboratories, commercial kitchens, cleanrooms, data centres, and large commercial facilities.They are currently adding a Commercial Kitchen Ventilation Technician to their Burnaby, BC office. The new hire will play a critical role in delivering expert service, maintenance, and installation solutions for commercial customers throughout BC. This position requires daily travel to customer sites and a strong commitment to technical excellence, safety, and customer service.Responsibilities:Service, Maintenance & InstallationHandle service calls for commercial kitchen systemsRepair and replace components for commercial kitchens and MUA equipmentAssemble and install motors, controls, compressors, transducers, pumps, thermostats, piping, and safety devicesLay out and install heating and cooling components of MUA units and connect to fuel supply, ventilation, and electrical systemsChanges filters on pollution control unitsTest installed systems, adjust controls, and perform scheduled maintenance servicesTechnical & Field ExecutionRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentationTroubleshoot electrical /mechanical systems and provide effective, code compliant solutionsMaintain a clean, organized, and well-inventoried company vehicleProperly stage jobs and adhere to quality and safety checklistsWork independently or collaboratively with other journeypersons and apprenticesCustomer Service & Professional RepresentationCommunicate technical solutions clearly in a non-technical mannerEducate customers on services, system options, and potential upgradesDemonstrate strong customer service, professionalism, and communication on every site visitParticipate actively in ongoing training and professional development initiativesQualifications:Minimum 2+ years of experience in commercial kitchen ventilation, commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration service, installation, and maintenanceStrong knowledge of commercial ventilation and MUA systems, heating, and air conditioning systems and applicable codesHVAC/R or electrical license - Red Seal certification preferredGas B ticket will be beneficialProven ability to troubleshoot electrical/ mechanical systems and lead installation workComplete knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials required for commercial mechanical serviceStrong written and verbal communication skills in EnglishStrong computer skillsRespond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate problemsClean Class 5 drivers license requiredAbility to pass a pre-employment background screeningCompletion of secondary school and relevant trade or vocational training preferredCompensation:$75,000-90,000 base salary (negotiable)Extended health benefitsPaid time offDefined contribution pension planService vanCellphoneLaptopCompany credit card
