Mechanical Project Manager High-Rise ResidentialLocation: Site-based, Vancouver (Oakridge area)Rightway Recruitment is representing a well-established and highly respected mechanical contracting firm in the Lower Mainland. With over four decades of experience, this contractor delivers complex plumbing and mechanical systems across large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and healthcare projects.The company has built a strong reputation for innovation, leveraging prefabrication, modular construction, and advanced coordination technologies to deliver efficient, high-quality results. Their culture is collaborative, forward-thinking, and strongly focused on long-term employee development.Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to support upcoming high-rise and large-scale projects across Metro Vancouver. This role is ideal for a Project Manager who thrives in a well-structured environment and is looking for exposure to major projects with clear career progression. You will take ownership of projects from pre-construction through close-out, working closely with construction leadership, site teams, and key stakeholders. You will be supported by strong internal systems, experienced field leadership, and an organization that genuinely invests in people, technology, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Construction Manager, the Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for:Leading assigned projects from planning through execution and close-outEstablishing project goals, expectations, and clear communication across internal teamsManaging project scope, contracts, and documentationDeveloping and maintaining site-specific document control systemsPartnering with site leadership to implement Procore systems familiar to field staffCoordinating health & safety plans, QA/QC programs, commissioning, and progress trackingActing as the primary liaison with clients, consultants, and project stakeholdersProducing and maintaining detailed project schedules and critical path activitiesSupporting design coordination, shop drawing reviews, and RFIsIdentifying, tracking, and mitigating project risksProcuring materials, equipment, and sub-trades while managing logisticsOverseeing BIM / Revit coordination and prefabrication efforts where requiredManaging project financials, job costing, forecasting, and reportingCoordinating manpower planning alongside site supervisionPreparing and submitting monthly progress drawsManaging change orders, pricing, site instructions, and drawing revisionsSupporting O&M manuals, owner training, and project turnoverProviding direction and mentorship to Project CoordinatorsCollaborating with accounting, HR, and operations to ensure project successWhat You Bring35+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in CanadaStrong background in plumbing and mechanical construction (high-rise experience preferred)Proven ability to lead teams and build trust with field and office personnelStrong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft OfficeFamiliarity with Procore, AutoDesk, Trimble, and BIM tools is an assetFormal plumbing training or trade background considered a strong assetProject Management education or certification is an assetLegally entitled to work in CanadaWork Environment & ConditionsFull-time, permanent positionSite-based work across the Lower MainlandOvertime as requiredActive construction site exposure, including uneven terrainCompensation$120,000 $150,000 base salary, depending on experienceAdditional OfferingsPerformance-based bonus program5% RRSP contribution100% employer-paid extended health & dental benefitsLife insurance and long-term disability coverageVehicle allowance and gas cardPhone allowanceOngoing training and professional developmentStrong internal growth and advancement opportunitiesRespectful, collaborative, people-first company cultureNext StepsRightway Recruitment is managing this search on a confidential basis.
