Job Title: Senior Bookkeeper, Full-Cycle (Hands-On, Multi Entity) Location: Brampton, ON Company: Brampton Crematorium and Visitation Centre About Us: Brampton Crematorium and Visitation Centre is a growing family-owned business dedicated to providing compassionate and personalized funeral and cremation services. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join our finance team and support our financial operations. Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on, full-cycle Senior Bookkeeper who is comfortable managing day-to-day AR/AP while also owning month-end close, reconciliations, and coordination with external accountants. This role is not purely administrative or strategic it requires someone who is detail-driven, accountable, and comfortable being deeply involved in the books. Key Responsibilities Include: Daily AR / AP & Cash Management: Manage high-volume daily accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoicing families, posting receipts, processing vendor invoices, and applying payments. Record daily financial transactions and ensure timely and accurate posting Reconcile daily deposits, payments, and cash activity Support cash-flow tracking and ensure records are current and accurate Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Month-End: Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, credit cards, & loan accounts Own and complete month-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports Multi-Entity & Intercompany Accounting: Maintain books across multiple related entities (operating companies, holding companies, and development entities) Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, shareholder advances, and internal transfers Ensure clean, auditable records across all entities Construction & Development Accounting: Track construction-in-progress (CIP) costs Record construction and development expenses, including soft costs and hard costs Track loan draws, interest, and development-related financing Compliance & External Coordination: Prepare and file HST/GST returns (monthly and quarterly, depending on entity) Collaborate with external controller, accountants, and auditors for monthly and year-end processes Act as a primary bookkeeping contact for external accounting support Systems & Organization: Maintain organized digital financial files and supporting documentation Support payroll processing and related reconciliations Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis as required Key Qualifications: 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience Strong experience in hands-on AR/AP within a high-volume service environment Experience managing books for multiple related entities Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and double-entry bookkeeping Experience working with loans, intercompany transactions, and shareholder activity Comfortable working independently and owning responsibilities end-to-end Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with ownership and external accountants Payroll experience is an asset CPA designation not required (practical experience preferred) Preferred Experience: Experience in construction, real estate development, or asset-heavy businesses Experience working with holding companies and intercompany accounting Familiarity with preparing accountant-ready schedules for year-end What We Offer: A supportive, family-oriented work environment.
