We are actively seeking a well-rounded Junior Estimator to join our team. This is an individual who brings relevant industry experience and exhibits strong leadership qualities by means of a result driven work ethic. They will consistently be key contributor on project bids, estimates and active project coordination, while working with team members from all levels of the company to ensure quality workmanship and profitable results. Responsibilities: Assists with preparation of tender documents Contracts trade contractors and suppliers for pursuit support. Obtains and builds unit pricing Performs and updates quantity take offs Updates request for information lists. Ability to learn and understand varied contractual terms and conditions Qualifications & Experience: Ability to perform quantity take-offs Ability to perform unit pricing Ability to read and understand construction documents (e.g., tender drawings, tender specifications) A passion for working in a construction environment Knowledge of a variety of contract arrangements such as: Lump Sun, Design Build, Project Management, Construction Management, and public/Private Partnership Strong computer skills, including experience with spreadsheets, design and formulas. Prior field construction experience will be considered an asset. Preparing quantity takeoffs based on preliminary and construction drawings Generating general expense estimates participating in design meetings Holding meetings with subcontractors Conducting scope reviews and creating subcontractor tender packages Soliciting subcontractor and supplier information and pricing Attending collaborative meetings and user group meetings with Owners and Consultants Actively participating in the industry, client and community relations to enhance company image Promoting and practicing company values in a creative, innovative and enjoyable work environment. Maintaining and fostering a positive long-term relationships with all business partners Education: Experience in the general contracting industry. Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or and equivalent construction program considered an asset.
