We aren''t just a grocery store; we are a neighbor. We are currently looking for a hands-on, energetic Store Supervisor to help lead our team and keep our displays looking fresh. Job Summary As the Store Supervisor, you will be the ''go-to'' person on the floor. You will work alongside the Store Owner to oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and maintain the high quality of our produce. This is an active role that requires an eye for detailespecially when it comes to fruit and vegetable qualityand the ability to motivate a team during busy rushes. Supervisory or managerial experience in retail settings with a strong background in store management Key Responsibilities 1. Produce Quality & Merchandising Quality Control: Constantly monitor produce for freshness. Perform regular ''culling'' to remove bruised or spoiled items and ensure proper rotation (FIFO - First In, First Out). Inventory: Assist with receiving deliveries, checking invoices against shipments, and organizing the backroom/cooler. Demonstrated skills in negotiation, sales management, team leadership, and customer service excellence 2. Team Leadership Supervision: Lead by example. Direct tasks for floor staff and cashiers, ensuring everyone stays productive during downtime. Training: Onboard new hires and train the team on product knowledge (e.g., how to tell if a melon is ripe, the difference between apple varieties). Scheduling: Assist in managing breaks and shift coverage to ensure customer needs are met. 3. Store Operations Opening/Closing: Key holder responsibilities, including opening the store in the morning and securing the premises at night. Customer Service: De-escalate customer complaints with a positive attitude and assist customers in finding specific products. Qualifications & Requirements Experience: 2 years of retail experience is required. Experience in grocery, produce, or a farm market is a major plus. Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 40-50 lbs repeatedly (boxes of apples, potatoes, bananas, etc.) and stand for long periods. Leadership: Previous supervisory experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated candidate with strong leadership potential. Availability: Must have flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Skills: Strong communication skills, and an eye for aesthetics.
